What an ERP system does for a Pakistani business
An ERP system is one piece of software that runs your stock, sales, purchasing, accounts and people on a single set of records. A sale reduces stock, raises the invoice and posts to the ledger in one step, so every department reads the same number and nobody has to reconcile spreadsheets at month end.
For most owners we meet, the problem is not a missing tool. It is three tools that disagree. Sales has one stock figure, the warehouse has another, and accounts finds out the truth two weeks later. An ERP ends that argument because there is only one place the figure can live.

System for stock, sales, POS and accounts
Signs you need an ERP (and when you don't yet)
Three answers
Sales, stores and accounts each have their own stock figure
Every meeting starts by working out which number is right instead of deciding anything.
Entered three times
The same order is typed into the order book, the stock register and the accounts
It is slow, and it is where most of the errors in the business come from.
A week to close
Month end is assembly, not analysis
The figures live in different places, so reporting means collecting before anyone can read them.
If two of those sound familiar, an ERP will pay for itself in staff time alone. If you run one location, a few hundred invoices a month and one person who keeps the books cleanly, you probably don't need one yet. Good accounting software and a disciplined spreadsheet will carry you further than vendors admit.

FBR digital invoicing built into your ERP
How we build it in
Your ERP raises the invoice from the same sales order that moves the stock and posts to the ledger, then sends it to FBR through a licensed integrator. No second entry into a portal.
Who it applies to
Under S.R.O. 1852(I)/2025, e-invoicing was rolled out to sales-tax-registered persons in phases by company type and turnover (PKR 1bn and above, PKR 100m to 1bn, up to PKR 100m), completed by 31 December 2025.
What counts as an invoice
It must be in FBR's structured digital format. A scanned copy or a PDF emailed to your customer does not count.
The licensed integrator
Invoices reach FBR through a licensed integrator. PRAL is licensed and free on demand; others may charge. We are not an integrator ourselves. We connect your ERP to the one you choose.
Fixing a mistake
Under Sales Tax General Order 01 of 2026, an invoice can be edited or cancelled within 72 hours. After that it needs Commissioner approval or a debit or credit note.
Point of sale
SRO 69 of 2025 sets the POS rules: a QR code on every invoice, real-time sync with FBR, and records kept for six years.

Custom ERP vs Odoo, ERPNext or SAP Business One
A ready-made ERP is right when your process looks like everyone else's. Custom wins when the way you work is the advantage. We will tell you which after discovery. For the long version, see our list of the best ERP software in Pakistan and the custom vs ready-made ERP breakdown.
Odoo, ERPNext or SAP Business One
Custom ERP
Cost: licence or subscription per user, plus implementation.
Cost: one build price, then support. No per-seat fees.
Fit: your team adapts to the product's workflow.
Fit: the screens follow the way your business already runs.
FBR: depends on the edition and a local partner's connector.
FBR: built into the sales module from day one.
Ownership: the vendor owns the code; you own your data.
Ownership: you own the code and the data.
How much does an ERP system cost in Pakistan?
A custom ERP in Pakistan typically costs PKR 150k to 600k+ depending on modules, by Softvirtue's published estimates (150k to 250k for two modules, 250k to 400k for three or four, 400k to 600k+ for a full system). SaaS plans such as Prismatic's run PKR 19,999 to 49,999 a month. We quote every build at a fixed price after a free discovery call. Detail in our ERP software cost in Pakistan guide.
- Modules
- Two modules cost far less than six. Phasing is cheaper and calmer.
- Users
- How many people need a login and what each role can see.
- Branches
- Each warehouse or branch adds stock locations, transfers and reporting.
- Data migration
- Clean data is quick. Years of mismatched item codes take real time.
- FBR integration
- The connection to your licensed integrator, and POS if needed.
- Hosting
- Cloud hosting billed monthly, or your own server.
Our ERP implementation process
Six phases, each signed off before the next starts. Our ERP implementation guide covers each one in depth.
-
1
Discovery and process mapping
We sit with each department and map what actually happens today, including the workarounds nobody mentions in the first meeting.
-
2
Solution design and fixed quote
Modules, phases and integrations written down, with a fixed price and timeline before you commit.
-
3
Build and configure
Screens, approval rules, chart of accounts, warehouses and the FBR connection set up around your process.
-
4
Data migration with rollback
Customers, items and opening balances moved across with checks at both ends, and a way back if the figures do not match.
-
5
Training per team
Accounts, sales and the warehouse each learn their own screens, not one generic walkthrough.
-
6
Go-live and support
We are on hand through your first month end, then stay on for changes as the business grows.
CRM and ERP in one connected system
A CRM handles the customer before the sale; the ERP handles everything after it. Connected, a won deal becomes a sales order without re-keying. See CRM vs ERP for the difference and CRM and ERP integration for how they connect.

ERP system in Pakistan: FAQs
What is an ERP system and does a small business in Pakistan need one?
An ERP system runs stock, sales, purchasing, accounts and HR on one set of records. A small business needs one once departments start giving different numbers, orders are entered more than once, or month end takes days. A single shop with clean books can usually wait.
How much does an ERP system cost in Pakistan?
Published estimates put a custom ERP at PKR 150k to 600k+ depending on modules, and SaaS plans at roughly PKR 20k to 50k a month. Users, branches, data migration and FBR integration move the final price, and we fix it after discovery.
Is your ERP compliant with FBR digital invoicing?
Yes. The ERP produces invoices in FBR's structured digital format and sends them through a licensed integrator in real time, from the same sales order that moves stock and posts to the ledger. Corrections follow the 72-hour rule in Sales Tax General Order 01 of 2026.
Do we need a licensed integrator like PRAL to connect with FBR?
Yes. Invoices must reach FBR through a licensed integrator. PRAL is licensed and free on demand, and other licensed integrators may charge. We are not an integrator ourselves. We connect your ERP to whichever licensed integrator you choose, so invoices sync without anyone retyping them.
Custom ERP or Odoo/ERPNext: which is better for my business?
Odoo or ERPNext suits a business whose process looks like the standard one and that is happy paying per user. Custom suits a business whose workflow is its advantage, or that wants to own the code outright. We recommend after discovery, and sometimes the answer is the ready-made one.
How long does ERP implementation take?
A focused system with two or three modules usually takes six to ten weeks. A multi-module ERP with data migration runs four to eight months, depending on the processes and integrations in scope. Going live in phases gets the first modules working sooner while the rest are built.
Can we start with two modules and add more later?
Yes, and we usually recommend it. Most businesses start with inventory and sales, or finance and inventory, then add purchasing, production or payroll once the first modules are settled. Everything shares the same records, so a new module plugs in without migrating anything a second time.
Can you migrate our data from Excel, QuickBooks, Peachtree or Tally?
Yes. We map your customers, suppliers, items and opening balances from the old system, clean duplicates and mismatched codes, then load them with checks at both ends. The old system keeps running alongside the new one until the figures agree, so nothing is lost if a step needs repeating.
Cloud ERP or on-premise: which is better in Pakistan?
Cloud suits most businesses: it runs in the browser, branches and travelling directors see live data, and backups are handled for you. On-premise suits businesses with a data-residency policy or unreliable internet at a site. We deploy and maintain either, on our hosting or on your own servers.
Do we own the source code and data?
Yes. On a custom build you own the source code, the database, the server configuration and the documentation. On a configured platform like Odoo or ERPNext you own your configuration and all your data, while the licence terms stay with the vendor. Nothing is held back as leverage.
Which cities do you serve?
We work with businesses across Pakistan, including Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Faisalabad, Multan and Sialkot, and remotely anywhere in the country. Discovery, build and training run online by default, and we plan on-site days for the sessions that benefit from being in the room, such as go-live.
What support do you give after go-live?
We stay on hand through your first month end, when most questions surface. After that, a monthly support arrangement covers fixes, user help, new reports and changes such as a new branch or a tax rule update. Response times are agreed in writing before you sign.
